We are delighted to introduce you to our outstanding Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) scholars who are excelling in their respective fields of study. Through their heartfelt testimonials, they highlight the experiences, gratitude, and positive impacts that the MMF scholarship has had on their lives and education.

Kamilah Abubakar Saad Field of Study: Biotechnology Institution: Adama Moddibo University of Technology Kamilah is a dedicated and passionate biotechnology student, aiming to contribute to advancements in medical research and agricultural innovation. Her commitment to her studies and enthusiasm for scientific discovery make her a standout scholar. “The MMF scholarship has not only eased my financial burden but also provided me with the motivation to excel in my field. I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my dreams and make a meaningful impact in biotechnology,” says Kamilah.

Hamman Hassan

Field of Study: Guidance and Counselling
Institution: Adamawa State University
Hamman is studying guidance and counselling with the aspiration to support and guide individuals in their personal and academic journeys. His empathetic approach and dedication to mental health and well-being make him a valuable future counsellor. “Receiving the MMF scholarship has been a life-changing experience. It has given me the resources to pursue my passion for helping others and enhancing mental health awareness. I am deeply thankful for this opportunity,” says Hamman.

 

Majida Mahmud
Field of Study: Agricultural Education
Institution: Adama Moddibo University of Technology
Majida is pursuing a degree in agricultural education, focusing on empowering future generations with the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable farming practices. Her goal is to foster innovation in agriculture and ensure food security for communities. Majida shares, “The support from MMF has been instrumental in my academic journey. It has allowed me to focus on my studies and develop innovative approaches to agricultural education. I am excited to contribute to sustainable farming and food security.”

Accelerating Sustainable Socioeconomic Growth for Internally Displaced People

Hosted by The Amahoro Coalition in partnership with the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF), the High-level Stakeholder Forum was a significant step towards accelerating sustainable socioeconomic growth for internally displaced people (IDPs). This event brought together thought leaders, innovators, and key stakeholders to explore how the private sector can partner with IDPs to drive impactful change.

The forum was filled with insightful discussions focused on investment and innovation, highlighting the vital role that the private sector can play in transforming the lives of IDPs. We had the honour of welcoming esteemed stakeholders from various organizations, including the Mastercard Foundation, Action Health Incorporated, The Teal Tree Company, GIZ, Chess In Slums Africa, Kidpreneur Africa, Blossomflow Empowerment Foundation, and many more. Each participant brought a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective on creating sustainable economic opportunities for IDPs.

Key topics of discussion included:

  • Investment Strategies: Exploring how targeted investments can spur economic growth and create job opportunities for IDPs.
  • Innovative Solutions: Showcasing cutting-edge approaches to address the challenges faced by IDPs, from education to entrepreneurship.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Emphasizing the importance of multi-sector partnerships in driving systemic change and ensuring long-term impact.

The forum also featured compelling presentations and discussions that underscored the need for inclusive and innovative approaches to support IDPs. Attendees were inspired by the success stories of IDPs who have thrived despite their circumstances, showcasing the incredible potential within these communities.

As we look forward to turning these ideas into action, the Murtala Muhammed Foundation remains committed to fostering collaborations that empower IDPs and promote sustainable development. This forum marks the beginning of a transformative journey towards creating a more inclusive and prosperous future for all.

Closing Event: 2024 Volunteers, Cohort 1

The Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) recently held a memorable closing event to honour the inaugural volunteers of cohort 1. The event was filled with warmth and appreciation as MMF celebrated the dedicated individuals who have been instrumental in advancing the foundation’s mission

The event also featured presentations that showcased the collective impact of Cohort 1. Stories of collaboration, perseverance, and positive change emerged as volunteers shared their reflections and experiences. These personal accounts not only underscored the dedication of the volunteers but also highlighted the profound connections they had forged with the communities they served.

In a touching gesture of gratitude, MMF presented certificates of participation and a token to appreciate two outstanding volunteers. This gesture symbolised the foundation’s deep appreciation for its hard work and commitment to making a difference.

Looking ahead, the event concluded with announcements of future networking opportunities and continued engagement for cohort 1 volunteers.

Celebrating Exceptional Contributions

In a heartfelt recognition of dedication and outstanding contributions, the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) proudly celebrates Solomon Yakubu and Emmanuel Mwada for their exceptional talents and unwavering commitment to our mission.

Emmanuel Mwada’s dedication has been nothing short of exemplary. His role in monitoring and documenting scholars’ performance in the North East, alongside his involvement in content creation and testimony recording for the recently concluded BBOG 2024, has showcased his full commitment to MMF’s initiatives. Emmanuel’s diligent efforts have significantly contributed to the foundation’s impact in the region.

Solomon Yakubu has consistently demonstrated a high level of commitment and initiative in his responsibilities. His proactive communication and dedication to tasks have been commendable, notably in his contributions to the March Newsletter, social media posts, and the communications strategy for International Women’s Day commemoration. Solomon’s innovative approach to the newsletter has been executed with excellence, enhancing engagement and highlighting impactful stories within MMF.


To express appreciation for their exceptional efforts, MMF presented monetary appreciation to both Solomon Yakubu and Emmanuel Mwada. As we continue our mission of creating sustainable impact and empowering communities, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Solomon and Emmanuel and look forward to their continued success in shaping a brighter future through their contributions.
