Humanitarian Response

In an unsettled society where individuals and their families live in fear of not surviving the next hurdles life throws at them, MMF restores hope, peace, and human dignity back into the lives of people who were victims of man-made or natural disasters. Nigeria has experienced and is still experiencing a magnitude of disasters ranging from terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, ethnic and religious crises, herds men attacks, criminalities, oil spills, pipeline vandalism, to cholera. These disasters have claimed the lives of many people, ruined communities and destroyed habitats.  The developmental and humanitarian challenges caused by these disasters require deliberate actions, strong commitments and sustained responses to prevent underlying consequences through an effective disaster management plan. MMF disaster relief service is built on 4 frameworks; Relief  Recovery Restoration  Reintegration  The objective of the programme is to provide short and long-term support to families and communities affected by disaster; and strengthen policies and institutional capacity of disaster management framework in the Nigerian community. In cases of emergency, relief support is provided through the distribution of food and non-food items (clothes and other essential items needed for survival).   By extension, scholarship assistance is also awarded to affected families and communities. MMF collaborates with individuals and organisations to improve the learning environment through the Safe School initiative. Through this initiative, students are enrolled in safer schools outside their immediate community.

Education

The denial of a child to education is a global menace; to improve the Nigerian educational system, MMF partners with other organisations to develop and implement innovative, yet efficient solutions to solve the increasing problem of out-of-school children in various Nigerian communities. Our focused areas in education are:  Digital leadership (Computer 4 Schools) – The C4S Initiative is a comprehensive approach to introducing children in small and under-developed communities to the use of technological devices to facilitate learning. As a result, we are equipping schools with well-equipped computer laboratories. Scholarship Programme – MMF gives priority to ensuring every child is given access to quality education. Through our scholarship programme, we are contributing to the reduction of poverty by partnering with local organisations, international organisations, and private individuals to improve the quality of education of students in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. MMF scholarship programme is further segmented into: Support for children with autism and other forms of disabilities  Support for orphan and vulnerable children in Northeast Nigeria Support for indigent children in rural communities  Support for the girl-child with interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
