Our mission at the Murtala Muhammed Foundation is to create lasting positive change in the lives of individuals affected by adversity. One of our flagship initiatives, the “Educational Support for Chibok Girls” project, embodies our commitment to this mission.
Providing Hope through Education
In the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency that struck Northeast Nigeria, the Chibok community faced unimaginable challenges, including the abduction of their girls. Our initiative, which began in 2018, seeks to provide safe and high-quality education to these brave young girls and their relatives, who have endured immense hardships.
Making an Impact
Since its inception, this initiative has made a significant impact:
- Direct Beneficiaries: We have sponsored a total of four Chibok girls as direct beneficiaries, offering them educational opportunities outside the country that serve as a beacon of hope for their future.
- Indirect Beneficiaries: Through the support of generous individuals, we have reached out to over 30 additional individuals, extending the ripple effect of positive change beyond our direct beneficiaries to their families and the community at large.
