11th Anniversary of the Abduction of the Chibok Girls

Murtala Muhammed Foundation Hosts “Stolen Daughters of Chibok” at SOAS, London

London, United Kingdom – The Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) commemorated the 11th anniversary of the abduction of the Chibok girls with a powerful event titled Stolen Daughters of Chibok, held at SOAS University of London. This solemn gathering aimed to honor the memory of the abducted girls, amplify the voices of survivors, and renew global commitment to the cause of justice, education, and safety for all Nigerian children.

 

Notable dignitaries like the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN And HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II, CON, human rights advocates Audu Bulama Bukarti and Osai Ojigho, academics such as Profesor Okome, Elizabeth Pearson and akintunde Akinleye and members of the Nigerian diaspora Gbenga Oyebode SAN and Students from SOAS University,London were in attendance to show solidarity and support for the families affected by the 2014 tragedy. The event featured moving testimonies, panel discussions, and artistic expressions that highlighted the ongoing impact of the abductions and the resilience of the survivors.

 

MMF remains steadfast in its mission to advocate for the safe return of the remaining missing girls and to ensure that such atrocities never happen again. As we mark 11 years since the abduction, we call on the international community to continue pressing for action, accountability, and meaningful support for affected communities.
